Getting to Loyfa Natural Resort Koh Phangan

Getting to Koh Phangan

The most comfortable way to arrive on Koh Phangan is via the international airport on neighboring island Koh Samui. From the airport it is easy to book a joint taxi and ferry ticket to Koh Phangan. The closest ferry to the airport is only five minutes away at Bangkrak Pier on the Seatran Discovery. Alternately Maenam Pier is 15 minutes and Nathon around 30 minutes from the airport.

From Bangkok, you can also fly to Surat Thani Airport. This is the closest airport on the mainland to Koh Phangan. Many budget airlines fly directly into Surat Thani daily. From the airport joint bus and ferry tickets can be purchased and the journey takes from 4-6 hours depending on which ferry you take.

Nakhon Si Thammarat Airport, is also serviced by flights from Bangkok. Located about an hour south of Don Sak pier, bus – ferry transfers range from 4 to 6 hours.

Koh Tao, a popular diving island north of Phangan, is located about two hours away by boat.

Form the mainland, a variety of ferries to Phangan leave from Don Sak pier, about an hour away from Surat Thani city. Surat Thani is also accessible from Bangkok and the rest of Thailand by bus and rail. From Bangkok these journeys are usually taken overnight, taking between 12-14 hours excluding bus and ferry transfers. Tickets can be purchased easily at any travel agency in Thailand.

Once on Koh Phangan, we provide a free pick-up service from the pier in Thongsala town.

Getting to Loyfa

While we provide a taxi service for guests coming into the main port town of Thongsala, some prefer to find their own way here.

Just follow the coastal road out of Thongsala heading northwest. About 400 meters before the 7-Eleven in Sri Thanu, the road will sharply turn to the right. Instead, head straight, follow the road left and up the hill to find Loyfa Natural Resort. It might seem a little hidden, but that’s how we achieve a secluded private paradise!
